FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DIOLAZE

HOW DOES DIOLAZE WORK?

During laser treatment, a diode laser beam passes through the skin towards hair follicles. The penetrating energy then heats up the root of the hair, which in turn prevents future hair growth.

As with all laser hair removal methods, Diolaze requires a series of treatments. Laser hair removal works best when hair follicles are in their mature stage, however, at any given time, your hair is in various stages of growth.

DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL HURT?

Diolaze has a built in skin cooling surface which is one of the largest for all hair removal devices. This makes treatment more comfortable than other devices, with most patients noting that Diolaze is virtually painless.

CAN BLONDE, GREY OR LIGHT HAIR BE REMOVED?

Lighter hair is very difficult for the laser to treat because the pigment in the hair is what attracts the laser beam in order to destroy the hair growth. Dark haired clients with fair skin are the easiest clients to treat, but we would love to see you for a free consultation to let you know if you are a good candidate.

WHICH AREAS OF THE BODY CAN BE TREATED?

Diolaze can be safely used on most areas of the body that have unwanted hair. Most commonly treated areas include: bikini, legs, arms, chest, back, shoulders, stomach, neck, chin and sideburns.

CAN I WAX OR PLUCK WHEN I'VE STARTED LASER TREATMENTS?

Waxing and tweezing must be avoided for four weeks before treatment. Shaving is permitted and actually encouraged before treatment.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

With each treatment, hair is reduced and best results are observed after four to six sessions. The number of sessions will differ depending on your hair color, hair type, body area, and skin tone.

WHEN WILL I NOTICE RESULTS?

It can take 3 to 4 weeks to see the full effect from each laser hair removal treatment as the follicles are shed. Most clients begin to notice a significant reduction in hair density after 3 to 4 treatments. Laser hair removal will typically destroy 60 to 90% of the follicles with the remaining follicles being finer and less pigmented.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THE LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT?

The area to be treated should be clean and smoothly shaved. Do not apply topical sun screens to the area prior to treatment. Avoid plucking, waxing or the use of topical depilatories for four weeks prior to your treatment. Once you have begun your treatment series, you should not pluck, wax or use topical depilatories. You should also avoid significant sun exposure for several weeks prior to your treatment.
